I like everything.

Let me explain. I'm driven by diverse interests and hobbies — I've been obsessed with everything from mountain biking, backpacking and rock climbing to baking, gardening and birding. Ask me about spoon carving and I will talk your ear off.

I can find a passion for just about anything. When I started as a designer at Salt Water Sportsman magazine, my definition of "fishing" was a chunk of bread on a hook tossed into a South Florida canal. Within a few years I was hooked up to a 300-pound blue marlin 20 miles off the shore of Panama.

My interests also happen to include things that make me a better designer: my photography, illustration, and UX/UI experience all started as something I was doing for fun. My focus is editorial design across all mediums. I have experience with both studio and on-location video, stop motion GIFs, interactive design, technical illustration and maps, infographics, and more.

As a designer, I tell stories. I love using design to teach readers how to do something technical and challenging, or making an audience feel the impact of a voice with a story to share.
